I honestly don’t think that Amon is an energybender. When he so called ‘removed’ bending, the light show didn’t happen. You guys remember the last episode right when Aang removed Ozai’s firebending, they were fucking glowing like LED lights.
I’d go with the theory that Amon just learnt a more advanced form of chi blocking. It may seem ‘permanent’. But I’m guessing that the chi is just blocked. Not completely removed from the body. And what does Amon do with the benders he ‘removed’ bending from? He probably imprisons them or shit so as to make sure that nobody can figure out if their bending was removed or their chi was fucking blocked!
Also, that theory of like, when Aang was ‘killed’ by Azula and then a new avatar was instantly born and then when katara revived Aang and then the ‘new’ avatar’s power was taken away is bullshit. There is no way that Amon is like, 70 years old. Impossibru!
Just sayin.
Only the avatar can remove bending and shit so yeah.
